The neighbourhood of Historic Woodfield
Woodfield is also home to one of the most active community associations in the City. Historic Woodfield has been operating since the 1970s and organizes some amazing events. Among these are:
 
  • Harvestfest – a community wide potluck and silent auction in the Fall
  • Plant Exchange – a Spring plant exchange and sale
  • Historic Fair – a day long Victorian Fair complete with horse drawn carriage rides, nickel games for kids, and a bike decorating contest and parade.
 
There is so much happening in this civic minded neighbourhood where preservation and fun go hand in hand. If you are looking for a neighbourhood where everyone says hello and invites you to their porch for a visit, this is the community for you.

Woodfield is an historic gem located in the heart of London. Their motto is “Residential to the Core”. The area borders Richmond, Dundas, Adelaide and the CPR tracks to the North. The homes in the neighbourhood date from the 1840s with the majority of homes being built between the late 1800’s to the early 1900s. This community is one of the largest and finest examples of an intact Victorian streetscape in Canada. One of the most interesting features of the homes in Woodfield is the varying style of homes. Woodfield encompasses everything from Queen Anne Style mansions to tiny Ontario Cottages.

Woodfield is also within walking distance to two of the finest Farmers Markets in the City. The daily Covent Garden Market and the Saturday Western Fair Farmers Market both feature local produce, butchers, fine cheeses, artisan crafts, and baked goods. They are wonderful places to shop and socialize with neighbours.’
 
Woodfield is also home to the prestigious Lord Roberts French Immersion Public School (SK-8). High School students in Woodfield are eligible to attend the #1 ranked high school in Ontario Central Public High School (based on standardized test scores).
 
Victoria Park borders Woodfield and it’s stunning old growth tree canopy provide the perfect setting to take in one of the many events that take place in the park year round. The famous Sunfest and Ribfest are two of the top highlights every summer.
